An EU Declaration of Conformity is an official document in which the manufacturer declares that a product complies with the applicable European directives and standards. This declaration is an essential part of the CE marking process and enables the free movement of goods within the European Economic Area (EEA).

The Radio Equipment Directive (RED Directive 2014/53/EU) ensures that radio equipment in the EU complies with the essential requirements relating to health and safety, electromagnetic compatibility and efficient use of the radio spectrum. Products covered by this directive must have an EU Declaration of Conformity in order to bear the CE mark.

A typical EU Declaration of Conformity contains:

• Product identification: A detailed description of the product, including model number, type or serial number.
• Name and address of the manufacturer: Details of the manufacturer or, if applicable, the authorized representative in the EU.
• Applied standards and regulations: A list of the standards and directives with which the product complies.
• Responsible person: Name and position of the person responsible for issuing the declaration.
• Date and signature: The date of issue and the signature of the person responsible.
